Personal encounter between the artist and the public
Everyone is invited to sit in front of the artist. You will be able to leave a response or a piece of advice to a question that others posed before you and leave a question about which you would like to get advice or a
response.
Everyone has a story and questions that go with us throughout life. Everyone can give a response and a piece of advice to others with a different story.
When I was a child, we used to sit around the kitchen table, back there was a door to the kitchen. It was room that resembled a womb in which there is continuous listening, conversations, physical touch, smells and flavors. All these elements created a space in which it was possible to give and receive advice. The kitchen was a mainly female space.
The presence of women who listen and pass on stories and give good advice, accompanies me with longing. The power of that chain of transmission feels crucial, specially in this period. The pandemic sent us back to our homes. Being home all the time or in isolation brought back the possibility of meeting around a table, telling stories and asking for advice.
This work was created as part of the learning of Beit Midrash Arevot-Women weaving tradition, which built a space women to learn together and create connections and transmission between past and present.
The performance seeks to reconstruct for a moment the participation in the chain of transmission, in which everyone has his or her place.
